Donna Sousa

Donna Sousa is the founder and CEO of Makeover Artistry by Donna Sousa. She has been a hairstylist and makeup artist for several years, with countless awards in both fields. She is also a hair designer and colorist.

Donna has worked with many well-known photographers and fashion designers in New England and has done makeup for five magazine covers to date! She specializes in weddings, editorial photo shoots, film, TV, runway and portfolios. Donna creates artistic makeup looks for fashion designers to complement their jewelry and clothing lines for print and runway. Donna is the fashion and event editor for Shop RI & Rhode Island Local Magazine.

Donna is an image consultant and provides makeovers for women (especially those over the age 40) to update their image and recreate themselves. She not only specializes in making those over 40 look radiant with make-up but also works to train women on how to do it for themselves!

She is a speaker and offers seminar (and large group training) for women along with one-on-one hair, and makeup training and classes. She teaches private makeup classes for professional makeup artists as well as the average woman and also teenagers. During her career, Donna has worked with numerous brides and is known to create a flawless complexion and a radiant look.

Donna has been a principal artist for The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Foundation and on the makeup team for Styleweek Northeast. Donna has also been the lead makeup artist for Fashion and Fame Magazine and freelances for the renowned Laura Mercier.

Donna is affiliated with The Beauty Within Model Management and is the lead Makeup and Hair Artist for TBW Model Boot Camp where men and women ages 12 to 50 are trained in hair design, makeup, runway and camera movement. The Model Boot Camp teaches makeup techniques for models to apply their makeup for film, camera, runway and everyday looks. At Model Boot Camp, training is also provided to create current hair trends with the newest tools and products.

Donna is the former co-owner of Sprittz Salon of Cranston, RI.

Karen Gomes

Karen Gomes brings her expertise and experience to Makeover Artistry. Originally from Rhode Island, she moved to California where for 16 years her makeup skills were utilized in music videos, bikini calendars, and press junkets in addition to other aspects of the Entertainment Industry. Returning to Rhode Island, her flawless makeup expertise has been in high demand by blushing brides and wedding parties for the past 13 years. Karen’s philosophy on successful wedding makeup? “Flawless skin is the basis for a beautiful glowing flawless bride…every bride is beautiful but the WOW Factor is the ultimate look to be achieved. Karen is currently an Account Coordinator/Trainer for Laura Mercier Cosmetics.

Lisa Bruno

lisa Lisa Oliveri Bruno is an editorial and commercial photographer as well an artist. She grew up in Hollywood Beach, Florida and currently lives in Rhode Island. Lisa was a Fendi model in her 20’s and it was through her love of fashion and all things luxurious that led her to make-up. Lisa was educated in the Parisian manner of cosmetic application and became a lead make-up artist for Yves Saint Laurent. She has also worked for Clarins and many famous clients including Donnetta Versace and Jessica Simpson. Lisa started taking photographs in her 20’s and launched 64 Degrees Photography in 1997. Her photos have graced magazine covers, billboards, calendars, fashion editorials and art galleries. Her work also includes photojournalism in local papers. Because Lisa has been trained in make-up, photography and has been a model herself, she knows what is required for perfect make-up application for an amazing photo! Much like her photographs, Lisa believes life should always have some element of surprise.

Christina Vigliotti

Christina is a graduate of the Toni & Guy Academy. She specializes in bridal and formal hairstyles and updos. Her work has been featured in many photo shoots and runway shows including Women’s Expo at Twin River and also the 2014 issue of Simply Chic Weddings magazine.

For the last three years, Christina has also enjoyed making brides and their bridal party look and feel beautiful on their special day.

Elizabeth (Liz) Postale Ravelson

Elizabeth graduated from the ‘Elizabeth Grady School of Esthetics and Makeup Artistry’ in 2000. She has worked for nine years at several high-end spas doing make-up and services for weddings, proms, special events and fashion shows. Elizabeth is trained under the mentorship of David Nichols, Master Makeup Artist and has represented and promoted the make line: “Benefit Makeup”. In 2009, Elizabeth was employed by Karen Cleary, Celebrity Makeup Artist and Stylist. She works as a makeup artist assisting Karen’s team on commercials, film shoots, fashion shows and photo shoots. She freelances and this allows her to work with teams like Makeover Artistry and Bella Life Modeling Agency for a variety of different opportunities including weddings, photo shoots, commercial photography, and fashion shows.

Jacleen Lamoureux

Jacleen Lamoureux is a graduate of Toni & Guy hairdressing academy. She also is a former instructor at the Toni & Guy Worcester Academy. Her passion is in doing hair and making individuals feel beautiful when they leave her chair.

Jacleen is highly trained in the field of hair. She has taken numerous advanced classes in cutting, coloring, and updos while continuing to further her education. Jacleen is an independent contractor at Salon Chic in Smithfield, Rhode Island and freelances.

Odessa Babbitt

A professional stylist for several years, Odessa uses hair as her canvas, bringing a distinctive aesthetic and fresh approach to draw out each client’s unique beauty. Hair is her art, and she loves the process of transforming someone from start to finish. Odessa believes that great hair is the key to feeling beautiful. Odessa has mastered skills in cutting, coloring, up-do’s and extensions and her distinct sensibility has received many industry accolades. Her work has been featured in several weddings and professional venues. For years Odessa traveled extensively, working as a stylist for various salons in the Boston Back Bay area and throughout New England. She loves hair and feels ‘incredibly blessed’ with her career choice. As a stylist Odessa believes in honesty, patience, creativity & hard work all functioning together to produce a beautiful end-result for her clients.

Maureen Gomes

Maureen Gomes brings many years of professionalism and experience to Makeover Artistry. Maureen is a professional hairstylist and is also employed at the prestigious salon, Amicizia, located at Freebody Street in Newport, RI. She has an established clientele of well over 500 customers. Her level of expertise and service results in true loyalty of her incredibly large customer base. Maureen is a Redken color specialist and has worked on numerous photo shoots, fashion shows and specializes in bridal. Maureen is highly trained and has attended numerous seminars and classes to stay current in her field. She truly enjoys her profession and enjoys making others feel great about their own appearance especially on their wedding day!

Jessica Ashton

Jessica has traveled throughout New England ‘glamming up’ brides and their bridal parties for almost 6 bridal seasons. She has had the privilege to do several bridal photo shoots including one recently featured in Bliss Celebrations Magazine (2015). Jessica has been passionate about makeup ever since her young teenage years. She was formally trained by Sara Faella and freelanced for Sara for over 5 years. Jessica has done several workshops for bridal makeup and is Temptu Airbrush – Certified. Jessica is a certified lash extension technician and teaches makeup artistry classes. Donna Sousa of Makeover Artistry and Jessica began their professional relationship while working many wedding seasons together. Jessica looks forward to many successful wedding seasons on the Makeover Artistry team!
